Plastering

With the use of plaster declining over the years, finding a craftsman familiar with plastering techniques has become increasingly difficult.  As his Grandfather’s apprentice, Keith learned the art of plastering as a teenager and has since mastered it well over the past 40 years.

When hiring a plasterer, be sure to ask where they learned the skill.  Plastering requires much more skill and completely different tool sets than drywall.  Plaster is about creating a surface rather than just addressing the seams and fasteners.  In many restoration projects, we can remove the loose material and restore the walls and ceilings to their former glory without disturbing the woodwork, which in turn can save you money.

At Dugan’s Drywall & Painting, we view plaster as a “lost art” and welcome any opportunity to assist our customers in new plaster or restoration projects.
